Kaliyah Jones continues to make her mark in collegiate distance running as a standout member of the Monroe University women’s cross-country team.
Jones was one of three Monroe athletes to secure a top-25 finish in the 5K at the St. Joseph’s Invitational in October. The freshman closed out the top-25 with a time of 23:40.30.
Sophomore Tanesia Gardiner led the Mustangs with an outstanding performance, finishing 12th overall among 148 runners in a time of 21:55.50. She was followed by freshman **Brooke Sheppard, who placed 16th in 22:08.10. Overall, the Monroe Mustangs secured **fourth place in the team standings.

Jones has earned high commendation from Coach Greene for her exceptional work ethic and consistency throughout the cross-country season.
Her progress has also been highlighted by personal-best performances. At the **Metropolitan XC Championship on October 11, 2025, Jones clocked a 5K personal best of 22:55.8. She followed that up with another personal best in the 6K, recording 29:05.0 at the LVC Last Chance Run Fast on October 24, 2025.
With continued improvement and strong competitive performances, Kaliyah Jones is emerging as a promising talent for Monroe University and one to watch in upcoming seasons.
