Bartlette’s Family Makes Significant Contribution in Medical Aid

Charlestown, Nevis -The Bartlette family of Brown Hill village, made a significant contribution towards the medical expenses of two well-known individuals on Nevis, on Thursday, 8th August.

Ms. Paulette Bartlette, in making the first presentation to Mrs. Tamecia Lestrade of Ramsbury, noted that it all started with the family wanting to honour their mother, Mrs. Maisie Bartlette in a special way, as she celebrated her 90th birthday on Sunday, July 28th.

Popular gospel singer, Bridget Blucher was brought in for the special occasion. However, the family decided to share her with the general public, in a grand concert held on Monday, July   29th.  The organizers decided to assist two individuals who have incurred enormous medical bills in recent times, with the proceeds from the concert.

Ms Bartlette officially handed over a cheque of $6,000.00 to Mrs. Lestrade.  A tearful and very emotional Tamecia, thanked the Bartlette family for the kind gesture and noted that she has to receive a regular injection overseas to deal with her rare illness, and said that the $6,000.00 would at least cover the cost of one more injection.  Tamecia also stated that she would sell everything she has, in order to enjoy one more day of life, except for her house, which she wants to leave for her children.

The Bartlette family next moved to Clay Ghaut, where they made the presentation of a similar cheque amount to Mrs. Judith Dore, who is currently in a fight for her life, with the dreaded Cancer disease.

After a brief introduction by Dr. Patricia Bartlette, who was the chief coordinator of the concert, her mom, Mrs. Maisie Bartlette, made the presentation to Mrs. Dore.

Mrs. Dore, in thanking the family for the kind gesture indicated that the amount will go a long way in helping to defray some of the astronomical medical expenses she is currently dealing with.
