Basketball : Youth and Sports Eagles Make It 1-All
Eagles Force Decisive Game Three in St. Kitts and Nevis Basketball Finals
Game two of the St. Kitts and Nevis Basketball Association’s best-of-three finals took place on the evening of Monday, July 21, at the Grell Hull-Stevens Netball Complex in Nevis. Despite lingering inclement weather—following a rainout of the originally scheduled match on Saturday, July 19—the game went ahead and delivered high drama from start to finish.
The contest featured a fierce showdown between the Sky Walkers of St. Kitts and the Youth and Sports Eagles of Nevis. Sky Walkers, having clinched victory in game one, came into the match hoping to seal the series on Nevisian soil. However, the Eagles had no intention of letting the championship slip away without a fight.
In a tense, back-and-forth affair, the score remained razor-thin in the final minutes, with only a single point separating the sides. But the Eagles held their nerve, capitalising on crucial lay-ups in the dying seconds. When the final whistle blew, it was the home team that erupted in celebration, having edged out a 65–60 victory.
With the series now tied at one game apiece, game three promises a thrilling finale as both teams battle to be crowned the true champions of the 2024 tournament.
