Brown Hill Tournament Dunks Off

It is the brain child of Brown Hillian Kelvin Bramble, who sees it as a means of giving back to his beloved community and in the process, keep the young men within his community and beyond, positively and meaningfully engaged.

In his brief remarks, during the opening ceremony of the league, which dunked off on the evening of Saturday 26th January, he noted that he was only taking a page from the book of Mrs. Wanda Parry France, the individual who has almost singlehandedly kept Basketball alive on the island, over the last decade or more.

The opening ceremony was ably chaired by Mr. Warren Pemberton and featured remarks by the Hon. Eric Evelyn, Minister of Sports, who admonished the team members present ‘to get high on sports.’

He indicated that he was happy when his departments and sporting organizations under his purview, keep him busy.

He further wished the tournament every success.

Newly elected PRO of the Nevis Amateur Basketball Association (NABA), Ms. Shoya Lawrence, spoke on behalf of newly elected President, Mr. Freddie Hanley, who was unavoidably absent.

She stated that her Association pledges to support any undertaking, as it relates to Basketball and pointed to their guiding motto: ‘Through Basketball, we fight crime.’

Mr. Kelvin Bramble then announced the games for that night:

Game one: Dynasty Ballers v CG Rebels

Game two: CG Massives v Bronx Crisis

The results of those matches will be forthcoming in another report.
