Cricket Hugh Oswald Raffie Wallace Laid to Rest

On Saturday 4th December, the mortal remains of the late Nevis and Leeward Islands fast bowler, Hugh Oswald RAFFIE Wallace, was laid to rest at the Bath Cemetery.

This, after the homegoing service, which was held at the Roman Catholic Church in Charlestown.

Among those delivering tributes were Miss Sharlene Martin, Vice President of the Nevis Cricket Association, on behalf of that august body and former West Indies allrounder Carl Tuckett, read a tribute on behalf of Enoch Lewis, the President of the Leeward Islands Cricket Association.

President of the Nevis Cricket Association, Carlisle Powell, delivered the impressive eulogy.

At the end of the service, as the body was being taken from the church, some of the local cricketers, raised bats in a fitting tribute.

These included the under 19 selectees to the West Indies under 19 squad.
