On Tuesday 5th April, some students at the Nevis Sixth Form College, organized a Cricket Festival at the ET Willet Park.
Carlon Bowens Tuckett and Alexander Caines explained that it was a requirement for their SBA project for their Physical Education subject.
The teams involved were: The Charlestown Primary School, the Joycelyn Liburd Primary; Ivor Walters Primary; the St. Thomas Primary School and the Charlestown Secondary School first formers.
The project was very well coordinated by the youngsters, complete with snacks and lunch, provided compliments of main sponsors, Bank of Nevis International and a top DJ, providing musical entertainment throughout the day.
The preliminary games were five overs per team and the grand finals between the Joycelyn Liburd Primary and the Charlestown Primary was played with ten overs per team.
The final was won by the Charlestown Primary School and they lifted the winners’ trophy gleefully.
