On Sunday 31st March, the SKN Moves Nevis Chapter coordinated a historic bike sprint relay event. The event was the brainchild of Craig David, and it featured six registered teams, each sponsored by a business entity. The teams that participated in the race were Defence Force, IT, Power Forward, The Trio, Dynamic Three, and Sunshine. The sponsors included LEFCO, Boddies, 32 Pearls, Seaquip Window Solution, Pen and Paper, and Power Chi.
The race started in the TDC car park and proceeded down Samuel Hunkins Drive, along the main road, turning at the hairpin bend at Four Seasons, returning on the main road, and ending in the TDC car park. Each team comprised three riders.
The Defence Force team faced a serious challenge from Power Forward but managed to hold on and secure the first place. The top three teams were as follows:
1st Place – Defence Force, sponsored by Power-chi
2nd Place – Power Forward
3rd Place – Team IT, sponsored by Pen and Paper
The sponsors presented the cyclists with shirts, rosettes, and certificates, while the Ministry of Health provided trophies to the first, second, and third-placed teams.
