Dr. Terrance Drew declares to huge crowd in St. Peter’s hometown: “Labour’s winter has turned into Spring Time”

BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, SEPTEMBER 9TH 2013 (CUOPM) – Declaring its “Spring Time” for the governing St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Party administration, one of the newest candidates, Dr. Terrance Drew says the attempt to remove the popular government of Prime Minister the Rt. Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas has failed.

“During the months of December, January and February in the Northern Hemisphere, it is winter time and during the months of December, January and February, they (former ministers Hon. Sam Condor and Dr. the Hon. Timothy Harris) tried to bring this government to an end and our over movement went through a period of winter time,” Dr. Drew told a massive Labour Party meeting in his home village of St. Peters.

The Cuban and U.S. trained internist admitted that the treacherous action of Condor and Harris has energised and united thousands of supporters of the Labours Party and spouted new candidates.

“Labour people were trembling. We were cold. We were somewhat depressed. Comrades, we felt a bit shaky. We thought that our lovely government that we elected in 2010 would have been ended by now, because on the Great Tree of Labour, there were two branches (Condor and Harris) that were not of Labour, but who were just sucking from the roots of Labour. And so when March came around, the ice began to thaw, water began to flow and those two branches fell to the ground and splattered and broken up,” said Dr. Drew in his first appearance on the political platform.

He drew thunderous applause when he declared: “And out of those came fresh branches and all of a sudden it is spring time in Labour, spring time in Labour, spring time in Labour.”

“So, new branches began to grow. In Constituency #7 we saw a new branch in Dr. Vance Gilbert. In #8 we see a new branch in Dr. Terrance Drew and in #3 we will see another new branch. It is coming. It is already here,” said Dr. Drew, who expressed full confidence in the leadership of Party Leader and Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas.

“And all these branches are connected to the Central Branch, in our Leader, the Hon.  Dr. Denzil Llewellyn Douglas who is always ready and will continue to lead this party forward,” said Dr. Drew, who had advice for Labour Party supporters.

“So now when they ask you my Labour comrades, why are you smiling? You say It’s Spring Time! When they ask you, why do you have pep in your step? You tell them It’s Spring Time! When they ask you, why is the Prime Minister gaining weight, while they are losing weight? You tell them It’s Spring Time,” said Dr. Drew to the large crowd.

He also had advice for the young people in St. Christopher 8 and St. Kitts and Nevis.

“And so my brothers and sisters, I am asking you, the young people of St. Peters and the young people of this country to join our movement, to build our movement; join us as we move forward, Vote for Labour, stick with Labour, Support Dr. Drew. Thank You,” Dr. Drew concluded to a standing ovation from Prime Minister Douglas, the platform of speakers and the tumultuous approval from the huge crowd.
