Final Four Heats Up As Bath and Stoney Grove Draw Match

By: Curtis Morton

The final four stage of the local football competition hosted by the Nevis Football Association continues to heat up as the teams continue their intense struggle for a spot in the coveted finals.

Foot BallThere was a very exciting game on Sunday 2nd February as arch rivals Brand ‘Slybo’ Stoney Grove Strikers and CCC Bath United squared off at the ET Willet Park.

The Bath team got off the first strike within the first ten minutes of the game, as ‘Akbo’ reacted quickly to pivot from close range and clear the head of the leaping goalie.

However, it was not more than ten minutes later when the fleet footed Delvon Clarke capitalized on a goalkeeper error and slammed the rebound into the back of the net.

However, despite the intense exchanges and quite a number of yellow cards from Referee Virgo, at the final whistle, both teams were locked on 1 goal a piece at the end of the 90 minutes.

The previous night the indomitable SL Horsfords Highlights had whipped All Stars 8 goals to 2 as the All stars men had no answer on the night.
