Glenkeet Richardson and Jaime Herbert Granted Bail

On January 16, 2025, Glenkeet Richardson of Wingfield Road, Old Road, St. Kitts, was granted bail under specific conditions. Mr Richardson was charged with three offences: one count of Causing Death by Dangerous Driving, which resulted in the death of four-month-old Mekairi Edwards of Halfway Tree, St. Kitts; and two counts of Injuring a Person by Wanton Driving, involving T’an Phipps and Kadedra Lewis. These offences occurred on January 11, 2025, on Johnson’s Long Path along the main road at West Farm, St. Kitts. He was charged on January 14, 2025, at the Basseterre Police Station. Bail was set at EC $30,000, requiring two sureties.

Mr. Richardson must surrender his driver’s license, currently suspended, as well as all travel documents. He is required to report to the Old Road Police Station every Monday and Friday between 6 AM and 6 PM. Additionally, he is prohibited from contacting any witnesses, either directly or through a third party, and must maintain a distance of one hundred (100) feet from them. These conditions were stipulated by Magistrate Her Honour Rhonda Nisbett Browne at the District ‘A’ Magistrate Court in Basseterre.

Jaime Herbert of Race Course, Newton Ground, St. Kitts, was also granted bail in the principal amount of EC $100,000 with two sureties. On January 17, 2025, Mr Herbert was charged with six offences: five counts of Causing Death by Dangerous Driving, resulting in the deaths of Rozina Herbert, Malique Rawlins, Belinda Paul, Ian Jules, and Dijorn Davis; as well as one count of Causing Injury by Wanton Driving. These charges stem from a traffic accident that occurred on December 11, 2024, on the main road in New Guinea, near Brimstone Hill, St. Kitts.

As part of his bail conditions, Mr. Herbert is required to surrender all travel documents and his suspended driver’s license. He must also appear at the District ‘B’ Magistrate Court on April 25, 2025, for a review. Bail was granted by Magistrate Her Honour Karen Hill-Hector on January 20, 2025.
