GOLD HOUSE REIGNS SUPREME AT VOJN

Gold House proved the dominant force on Wednesday 9th March as the VIOLET O.J. Nicholls Primary School (VOJN) held its annual sports meet under the distinguished patronage of Miss Kimani Michlette Mills, a former student and outstanding athlete of the school.

The meet commenced with an impressive and innovative styled march past, featuring the three competing houses: Gold tigers, with a tiger leading the way; Green stallions, led by a stallion and Blue warriors, complete with painted faces and bows and arrows.
The troops were then inspected by Headmistress Mrs. Shay Wilkin and the patron and then the athletes took to the track in fierce competition mode.
There were several stand out athletes who all combined to excite the huge crowd on hand.
The races included the conventional 60; 100; 200; 400; 800; 4X100 and 4×400 meters races, along with some innovative races such as the cricket pads race; skipping race; late for school and the special Olympics race.

At the end of the meet, the final scores were as follows:
Gold house-389 points-champions
Green house -326 points-second
Blue house –263 points-third
