GREEN HOUSE STORM TO VICTORY AT EPPS SPORTS MEET

By:Curtis Morton

The Elizabeth Pemberton Primary School (EPPS) held its annual sports meet at the FLATS in Cole Hill on Monday 1st March.

The meet which commenced at 12.45 pm was held under the distinguished patronage of former teacher at the school, Miss Claire Cairy.

Scores of individuals showed up to witness the meet and it was also observed that quite a number of representatives from some of the other Primary schools on the island, were keeping a close eye on the progress of the top athletes at the school.
DUGGIN who is a St.Thomas’ Primary man to the bone, admitted to ‘keeping an eye on the times’ of the top athletes.

Small wonder, as the EPPS has topped the B zone at the prestigious Inter Primary meet for the last five years and last year went even further and topped some of the top schools in the A zone.

From the very first race, it was obvious that Green house was making a statement and a similar run away win in the final race of the day, was the last AMEN.
The ultimate hero of the day was Queleel Roberts, who broke a couple of records in the process and is certainly one individual who the pundits would be looking closely at during the grand Inter primary meet, slated for March 30th.

At the end of the day, the final results were as follows:
Green house 331 points –champions
Red house-193 points-2nd
Gold house -182 points-3rd
