Jonathan Heads to the Junior PanAm Games in Paraguay

We’re proud to share that Jonathan Essien Bardales is heading to Asunción, Paraguay, to represent St. Kitts and Nevis at the 2025 Junior Pan American Games!

Jonathan will compete in the 100m Butterfly and 100m Freestyle, two of the most competitive events in swimming — and he won’t be alone. Coach James Weekes will be there with him, providing support and guidance as he takes on this major competition.

The Junior Pan American Games were created to promote young athletic talent across the Americas. The inaugural event was held in 2021 in Cali, Colombia. Now in its second edition, the 2025 Games will welcome over 4,000 athletes across 42 disciplines, offering not just a platform for elite youth competition but also a pathway to qualify for the 2027 Pan American Games.

Open to athletes born between 2003 and 2013, this event is a vital step in Jonathan’s journey and a proud milestone for the St. Kitts and Nevis Aquatics Federation.

The Games officially open on August 9, 2025, and promise to be a celebration of youth, sport, and excellence in Paraguay.

Join us in cheering on Jonathan and Coach Weekes as they represent the spirit, strength, and potential of Team SKN on the continental stage!
