Olympic 100m champion Julien Alfred claimed back-to-back Diamond League titles with a solid win in the blue-riband event in Zurich, Switzerland, on Thursday (28 August).
Alfred returned to the track at the 2025 Diamond League Final for the first time in more than a month and showed no loss of speed.
The Saint Lucian blitz was the epitome of poise and composure as she reeled in a flying Tia Clayton to take the win in a time of 10.76 seconds.
The 24-year-old showed off her excellent top-end speed, stopping the clock 0.01s short of her season’s best. Alfred has been practically unstoppable this season in her pet event, with only one loss in the 100m this year.
Jamaica’s Clayton clocked 10.84 for second place with Dina Asher-Smith of Great Britain finishing third in 10.94.
“I’m satisfied, I’m grateful. I am working towards Tokyo, and that is really my goal right now,” Alfred said after the race.
“I am healthy, but it is five weeks since I last competed, so I am not as sharp. However, I can’t complain, I am happy, and I am satisfied.”
