KIMMOY DOMINATES AT ANNUAL HANLEY’S ROAD FISHING TOURNAMENT

Charlestown-Nevis- The now annual Hanley’s Road fishing tournament took place on Monday 2nd May at Indian castle.

Mackay Moore and his Fisher folks team of Hanley’s Road, must be greatly congratulated for running a tremendous event for yet another year.

Hundreds of spectators showed up on the afternoon to witness the boats returning after they had pushed out to sea, since 5 am that morning.

According to Moore, there were ten boats participating this year. Five pushed out from Indian Castle and the other five pushed out from Oualie Beach and Gallows Bay respectively.

There was a rush to see the magnificent catch, first hand; there was a rush to witness the grand weigh in and an even greater rush to purchase the fish which were immediately offered for sale.

Minister of Agriculture, Hon. Alexis Jeffers was extremely impressed with the turn out and the response of the general public.

He noted that it was slated on the calendar of events hosted by his Ministry, as they celebrate a special month of activities and congratulated the Hanley’s Road fisher folks for a fantastic job. He observed that the event is getting bigger and better every year, with the addition of new initiatives.

One of the new initiatives this year, was the raffle of a brand new car, which was won by Kamiah Maynard of Hanley’s Road.

The man of the day, was undoubtedly the well known Contractor and fisherman, GARGU who along with his crew on board the boat KIMMOY, dominated in many of the categories.

Mackay Moore took time out to thank the huge number of persons and sponsors who teamed up to make the event such a huge success.
