Ms Caribbean Culture Queen Pageant: Miss Anguilla – Melisha Webster

Melisha Webster, a 23 year old dreamer proudly hails from Anguilla, a gem of an island sizzling with activity, all wrapped in orange, white & blue! She prefers to be colourfully described as her favourite author, Maya Angelou paints the picture “an intelligent woman, a courageous woman, a loving woman, a woman who teaches by being.”

Never let it be said that to dream is a waste of one’s time for dreams are but realities in waiting; in dreams seeds of our future are planted. Entering and competing in the Miss Anguilla Queen Pageant 2014/2015 was a dream come true and emanates from a sense of place for Melisha emphatically states “there is nothing that I take more pride in than stating that I am Anguillian”.

She treasures & respects her ambassadorial role for Anguilla at this year’s Miss Caribbean Culture Pageant (2015) and views her participation in this prestigious regional Pageant as an opportunity to bring light & share with her fellow contestants her social platform that of empowering young women through mentoring and sharing especially in the virtues of high self –worth and self-esteem. She believes as Kofi Annan says “there is no tool for development more effective than the empowerment of women.”

Melisha’s interests of travel, adventure, exploration, learning, teaching , embracing new cultures have resulted in her honing an exciting career as a Flight Attendant with United Airlines.

When she is not taking flight she unwinds through writing poetry, fishing, cooking, listening to music and socializing with friends.

Melisha takes this opportunity to wish her fellow contestants all the very best in the 2015 Miss Caribbean Culture Queen Pageant !
