Netball Shoots Off in Nevis-in Netball Is Back Tournament

An official opening ceremony signalled the start of a Netball tournament, hosted by the Department of Sports, in conjunction with the Nevis Netball Association.

The action was at the Brown Hill hard court, on the evening of Saturday, November 7, 2020.

The ceremony was ably chaired by Senior Sports officer, Carl Tuckett and the invocation was done by Pastor Trecia Daniel

Among those addressing the gathering were: Jamir Claxton, Director of Sports; Allister Thompson representing the Nevis Netball Association and Minister of Sports, Hon. Eric Evelyn, who noted that he was elated that Netball is Back, but that he was more concerned to know that NETBALL IS BACK TO STAY.

Minister Evelyn wished all of the teams well and officially declared the tournament open.

The five participating teams are DC Uprising Stars; DC Elite Ballers; Hurricanes; Venomous Vixens and Blue Tides.

Two games were played immediately after the opening ceremony.  In game one, the two Gingerland teams faced off against each other: DC Uprising Stars and DC Elite Ballers.  The feature game for the evening saw Blue Tides engaging Hurricanes.
