Wanda Parry-France of the Nevis Basketball Association is happy to report that Basketball on Nevis got back in the spotlight in 2022, after being hampered in the two previous years, due to the covid -19 restrictions.
The Church Ground Basketball Association held a Parish league for under 25 players, which created quite some excitement and saw St. Paul’s defeating St. George’s in the finals.
The Youth and Sports Eagles of Nevis also participated in the Basketball league in St. Kitts and made it to the finals, even though they lost out in the best of three.
The highlight of the year was an island-wide tournament, hosted by the Nevis Basketball Association, which was sponsored by the Hon. Spencer Brand.
Some nine teams participated, which saw the CG and CG team, overcoming a determined Dynamics team in the finals.
According to Mrs. Parry-France, 2023 promises to be an even more exciting year.
