Nevis Football Association Forms Alliance with Regency Assurance in Grassroots Football Program

On Wednesday afternoon-15th February, a brief but significant ceremony was held at the Disaster Management office’s conference room, at Long Point.

On that day, it was officially announced that the Regency Assurance company, is sponsoring the grassroots football program on Nevis.

The ceremony was ably chaired by the Director of Sports on Nevis, Jamir Claxton who thanked the well-known company for coming on board to assist in the development of the young people on the island.

An official from the Regency Assurance company also spoke via video link and noted that it was part of the company’s way of giving back to the community and assisting the young people to develop positively.

President of the Nevis Football Association, Everette France also thanked the company for the necessary sponsorship of the program and promised the youthful footballers present, that the program is not just limited to the learning of football skills, but it is about holistic development.

One of the coaches, Aljay Newton took time out to encourage the young footballers to seize the opportunity to hone their skills and listed a number of players who they can emulate.

Education Officer for Health and Wellness and Sports related activities, Ms. Nichola Fraser, endorsed the program and assured that the Ministry of Education will lend full support in ensuring that the program is a success.

In delivering the vote of thanks, Mr. Claxton thanked all who made the sponsorship deal possible, including Curtis Morton Jr, who he indicated, was instrumental in making the deal happen.
