NNA Elects New Executive

CHARLESTOWN, NEVIS (Sunday 26th January 2014) — Well-known netballer and current employee within the Nevis Island Administration’s Ministry of Youth and Sports, Ms. Vera Herbert was elected, last Thursday [Jan. 23], to serve as the Nevis Netball Association’s [NNA] President for the next two years.

Ms. Herbert, along with Ms. Jeanette Grell-Hull M.H. were elected to govern the affairs of the association in their roles as President and Vice President respectively.

Other recently elected members of the NNA are Secretary Ms. Tricia Williams, Public Relations Officer Ms. Jáedee Caines and Floor Members Mrs. Lydia Thompson-Claxton, Ms. Jasmine Charles and Mrs. Govanie Manners-Hendrickson.

With no one elected to serve as the association’s Treasurer and Assistant Secretary-Treasurer, President Herbert advised that two persons would be appointed to fill those positions and the entire NNA would be notified of the decision.

Thursday’s AGM commenced at 5:50pm in the Ministry of Youth and Sports’ Conference Room in the Reliable Motors’ Mini Complex which is located on the corner of Bath and the island’s Main Road.

A handful of individual NNA members attended Thursday’s meeting and three clubs were represented: the Dynamics Sports’ Club, Revivorz Netball Club and Pioneers’ Sports’ Club.

In her first address as President of the NNA for the years 2014-2016, Ms. Herbert recorded appreciation to her outgoing and incoming executive team and called on all netball clubs and individual members to work collaboratively to ensure the hosting of successful netball events.
