OECS Baseline Survey – Media Awareness and Perception

The OECS Commission has determined that in order to support the implementation of the Revised Treaty of Basseterre, it needs to ensure greater awareness of the OECS Economic Union among OECS Citizens. The overall objective is to support and promote the implementation of the Revised Treaty of Basseterre and, by extension, regional integration, through a quality Public Education Programme that increases the number of public education products at all levels, engages a broad and varied number of OECS nationals, and utilizes a range of conventional and modern media. The Commission, as a first step, will conduct a Baseline Study to inform the development of a Public Education Programme (PEP), which will promote the Economic Union and the Revised Treaty of Basseterre at all levels, engaging a broad and varied number of OECS nationals.

Accela Marketing has been contracted to undertake the Baseline Study and the development of the Public Education Programme. As a part of the initiation of the project, preliminary consultations are being held with key stakeholders, including representatives from the OECS Commission, Government institutions, statutory bodies, the Media, and national and community leaders. Against this background, please take approximately ten to fifteen minutes to complete this short questionnaire, which seeks to obtain feedback regarding current national initiatives, local perceptions and lessons learnt with respect to implementation of the OECS Economic Union.
