Basseterre, St. Kitts, October 7, 2018 – Police confirmed Sunday that the federation’s 23rd murder victim for 2018 was stabbed to death.
Forensic Pathologist, Dr. Valery Alexandrov who performed a post-mortem on the body of 56-year-old John Gumbs “concluded that his death was as a result of multiple stab wounds to the body.”
The body of the drain cleaner was found lying in a drain on Branch Street in Newtown on October 1, 2018 with several stab wounds.
Since Gumbs’ murder, another man was killed in Sandy Point on Saturday, October 6. Police are yet to issue a statement on this murder which occurred during the afternoon hours.
Police said investigations into Gumbs’ murder are ongoing and urged persons with information regarding this incident to call the Violent Crimes Unit at 467-1887, 467-1888, or 662-3468 or their nearest Police Station.
