`I am concerned about my Integrity. … For anyone to say that I am not support supportive of the Team Unity Concept, having given my word on that, they clearly do not know me; and I don`t expect them to say anything different; becausethere will be the Nay-Sayers; those who want to make me appear (different). Am a man of my word, I don’t give my word lightly, and having given my word … I don’t take it back“.
Those were the words of Vance W. Amory, Premier of Nevis in response to a question on the radio program Straight Talk. The question was a direct one in relation to “rumors that he was not in support of Team Unity“.
The Premier prefaced those words with reference to the present construct of the Federal Parliament, and that the Opposition Members, who form a majority of the elected members, have come together to form Team Unity. He further mentioned that if persons were to recall the statement to take and analyze the statement he sent (which was read by his Cabinet Secretary Stedmond Tross), that they would see his commitment. A commitment made to the country through a new type of politics; and a new political arrangement in which anyone can be included … Independents, established political parties, new or established politicians.
The Premier went on to say that the people of St. Kitts and Nevis need to see this (referencing the Unity Movement) not as divisive or contentious, but as a new and positive paradigm to be embraced. He expressed belief that this Team Unity approach can make a difference generally in the lives of the people of St. Kitts and Nevis.

Hon. Vance W. Amory one again became Premier of Nevis in January 2013 following his Concerns Citizen Movement (CCM) defeating the incumbent NRP, who was supported and is in a Federal Coalition with The Douglas regime. Amory`s CCM form part of the Unity Movement, which currently holds a majority of the elected seats in the Federal Parliament, and contesting the upcoming Federal Elections as a unified block.
