Press Release Update on Work Being Done At Conaree Cricket Center To Prepare For The Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2021

The St Kitts Cricket Association would like to share with our Members, Stakeholders, the General Public, and the Media of our activities to ready our Facility at Conaree for the Caribbean Premier League (CPL). As we are all aware, our Federation has won the right to host this overly exciting Edition of CPL Cricket.

We at the St Kitts Cricket Association were invited to participate by making our facilities and cricket ground ready for the purpose of CPL teams’ practices.

In early May 2021, at a meeting of our Volunteers and Partners, we immediately created a Master Project Plan which included our Partners, Donors, The Water Department, Ministry of Sports and the Ministry of Youth. Our meetings were used to brief the Team on the importance of their role in representing the Federation, worldwide, by ensuring that the facilities are up to International Standards.

Several past visitors including Cricket luminaries have remarked on the quality of our facilities over the last three years, and the remarkable upgrades that have taken place in the wicket areas, grounds, the installation of tables and chairs, players’ independent areas, a media center, scoreboards, and a restaurant and bar facility.

We have had to spend a lot of time on the maintenance of the grounds itself, in weed management and re‐rooting the right type of grass, which will then bring the entire playing area back to international levels.

This has taken an enormous amount of time, human resources, financial resources, volunteerism and donor contributions.

We are working assiduously to be ready by August 16th, 2021.

We invite all to tour our Facilities to see the current state of play. We thank all our Volunteers, Donors, Partners in the Public and Private Sectors for working together with us in this aspect of National and Regional Development.
