REPORT OF ARREST, CONVICTIONS AND OTHER ACTIVITIES.‏

Basseterre, St. Kitts, April 21, 2016 (RSCNPF): Below is a report of Arrest and or Convictions from the records of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force for period 18 -19 April.

ARRESTS/BAILED:
Arrested: Kishon Ritchen of Sandown Road, Newtown was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the Offence of Possession of Ammunition on Warrant In the First Instance. Offence took place on 17th April, 2016 at Pond Road.

Arrested: Trevor Mulraine of Mad House Alley, Newtown was arrested, formally charged and cautioned on a warrant in the first instance for Burglary committed on March 23, 2016.

Arrested: Joseph Browne of Grove Village, St.Pauls was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offence of larceny and receiving.

Arrested/Bailed:. Lewis Powell of Fort Thomas Road was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offence of Possession of Cannabis. Offence took place at Port Zante on April 17, 2016. He was granted bail in the sum of Three Thousand Dollars ($3000.00) and ordered to appear at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on Monday, May 9, 2016.

Arrested/Bailed: Glennor Henry of Keys Extension was arrested, formally charged and cautioned on a warrant in the first instance for the offence of driving without insurance committed on April 13, 2016. She was granted in the sum of $1,000.00 and ordered to appear at the District ‘B’ Magistrate Court on June 6, 2016.

Bailed: Pedro Huggins of Keys Extension who was arrested and charged for Failing to Report Traffic Accident and permitting another person to drive vehicle when not a holder of a driver valid and unexpired licence was granted bail in the sum of $5000.00 and ordered to appear at the Dieppe Magistrate Court.

Bailed: Jahvin Browne of King Street, Basseterre who was arrested and charged for the offence of Larceny of a Motor Cycle was granted bailed by His Honour Benjamin in the sum of $5000.00. Bail was granted with the condition he report to the Basseterre Police Station every Tuesday between 6 am and 7 pm until his trial date.

Bailed: Bishu Isaac of Pitcairn Street, Newtown who was arrested and charged for Possession of Cannabis and Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Supply was granted bail in the sum of $8000.00 and ordered to appear at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on Monday, 9th may, 2016 at 9 o’clock in the forenoon.

Bailed: Markas Huggins of Roxborough Street, Newtown who was arrested and charged for Possession of Cannabis and Possession of cannabis with Intent to Supply was granted bail in the sum of $8000.and ordered to appear at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on Monday, 9th May, 2016 at 9 o’clock in the forenoon.

COURT CONVICTION:
In matters at the Charlestown High Court presided over by Her Ladyship Madame Justice Lorraine Williams, in the matter D.P.P vs Shane Shorter of Newcastle, who earlier in the assizes pleaded guilty to the offences of Wounding with Intent and Burglary. His sentences are as follows: on the count of Wounding with Intent, he was sentenced to eight (8) years and on the count of Burglary he was sentenced to eight (8) years. Both sentences to run concurrently.

In matters at The District “B” Magistrate Court presided over by Her Honour Mrs. Karen Hill Hector, Krami O’loughlin of Mansion Village who was charged with the offence of Possession of Cannabis committed on November 13, 2015 at Mansion was convicted and ordered to pay a fine of $1000.00 ECC payable by May 30, 2016 or in default serve one month in prison at hard labour.

In matters at the Basseterre Magistrate Court presided over by His Honour Mr. Benjamin Antoine Galloway of Pond Road who was charged for Larceny from unattended vehicle on March 8, 2016, breached the conditions of his bond and was sentenced to serve one(1) year in prison. Additionally, he was charged for larceny from the person on March 31, 2016 and he was found guilty and sentenced to serve one (1) year in prison. Both sentence to run consecutively.

In matters at the Charlestown Magistrate Court presided over by Her Honour Miss Yasmine Clarke the following convictions were recorded:

1. Beverson Mills of Barnaby was found guilty of the offence of Malicious Damage and sentenced to three (3) years in prison.

2. Rykiel Mills of Barnaby was convicted for the offence of Malicious Damage and Larceny. For the charge of Malicious Damage he was fined Eight hundred dollars ($800.00 XCD) in three (3) months or in default serve three (3) months imprisonment. For the charge of Larceny he was cautioned.

3. Steve Gobin of Brown Hill was convicted of wounding and fined Two thousand dollars ($2000.00) XCD in six months or in default serve twelve months imprisonment,

4. Kurt Hazel of St. Johnston’s Village, St.Kitts was convicted for the offence of Possession of Cannabis. He was sentenced to a fine of two thousand dollars ($2000.00) XCD or in default serve twelve (12) months in prison.

5. Troy Francis of Cayon, St.Kitts was convicted and fined (a) Five hundred dollars ($500.00) XCD in two (2) months, if in default serve one (1) month imprisonment for Driving without a licence. (b) Five hundred dollars ($500.00) XCD in three (3) months or in default, serve one (1) month imprisonment for driving without insurance(c) Five hundred dollars ($500.00) XCD in three (3) months, in default one (1) month imprisonment for Fraudulently using the identification make of another vehicle.

6. Jahrescia Herbert of Cotton Ground was convicted and fined: (a) Five hundred dollars ($500.00) XCD in one (1) month in default serve one (1) month imprisonment for Driving without a licence. (b) ($500.00) XCD in two (2) months, or if in default serve one (1) month imprisonment for Driving without an insurance.

OTHER ACTIVITY:

Building Breaking and Larceny: Police are investigating a report of Building Breaking and Larceny that occurred “ADMIRAL’S 2008 Ltd, an upholstery/recycling company, situated at Kitstoddart. Police inquiries revealed that the premises was secured at about 9:55p.m on 18th April, 2016. Upon arrival at the premises at about 7:00 a.m on 19th April, 2016 a door was found open. A check of the premises led to the discovery that several areas within the premises had been ransacked and a number of items missing. The Scene was processed the Crime Scene Unit.

Police continues to conduct Vehicular Check Points and or Stop and Searches and several searches of abandoned properties. The check points and searches were done in efforts to ensure Citizen Safety, by removing any found Illegal Firearms, ammunition, illegal drugs, and other instruments that can be used to commit crimes.
