Report of Arrest, Convictions and Other Activities

Basseterre, St. Kitts, July 8, 2016, (RSCNPF): Below is a report of Arrest, Convictions and other activities recorded by the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force for the period July 7.

ARREST/BAIL:
The following persons were granted bail.
– Jervin Rawlins and Phillip Jones, both of Tabernacle Village, who were both arrested and charged for Robbery were granted bail in the sum of $50,000.00 each, with two sureties of $25,000.00 each. The conditions of their bail are as follows:- 1. Both applicants are to surrender all travel documents, 2. Report to the Tabernacle Police Station on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays between 7am and 6pm, 3. They are prohibited from contacting any potential witness whether in person or by any acting agent on their behalf, at their request or with their encouragement, 4. Any breach of the above conditions will result in the arrest and immediate revocation of their bail.

-Thaun Audain of Haynes Smith Village who was arrested and charged for Possession Of Firearm and Possession of Ammunition was granted bail in the sum of $50,000.00 with two sureties of $25,000.00 each. The conditions of his bail are as follows:- 1. He is to surrender all travel documents, 2. Report to the Basseterre Police Station on Mondays and Fridays between 7am and 6pm, 3. He is prohibited to have any contact with or interfere with any witness either by himself or through any agent acting on his behalf or with his encouragement, 4. Keep the peace and be of good behaviour, 5. Any breach of the above conditions will result in the arrest and immediate revocation of his bail.

-Bevon Taylor of Salt Pond Alley who was arrested and charged for Possession Of Cocaine With Intent To Supply was granted bail in the sum of $50,000.00 with two sureties of $25,000.00 each. The conditions of his bail are as follows:- 1. He is to surrender all travel documents, 2. Report to the Basseterre Police Station on Fridays between 7am and 6pm, 3. He is prohibited to have any contact with or interfere with any witness either by himself or through any agent acting on his behalf or with his encouragement, 4. Any breach of the above conditions will result in the arrest and immediate revocation of his bail.

COURT CONVICTIONS:
In matters at the Basseterre Magistrate Court which was presided over by His Honour Mr. Benjamin, the following matters were heard and all were convicted with the following sentences handed down:
(1) Licences Authority versus Wilfred Browne of Upper Monkey Hill for driving without due care and attention, he was fined $350.00 in to be paid in 3 days or if in default serve 14 days in prison.
(2) Gopal Ashwant of Mattingley Heights for Careless driving. He was fined $350.00 in to be paid in 7 days or if in default serve 14 days in prison.

(3) Toussaint Riley of Ponds Estate for Careless driving. He was fined $200.00 in to be paid in 7 days or if in default serve 7 days in prison.

(4) Monroe Daniel of Keys Village for Careless driving. He was fined $350.00 in to be paid in 7 days or if in default serve 14 days in prison.

(5) Romeo Richardson of Saddlers Village for driving off the bus route. He was fined $250.00 in to be paid in 2 weeks or if default serve 14 days in prison.

(6) Jordan Hammond of St. Peters for Careless driving. He was cautioned.

OTHER ACTIVITY:
House Breaking and Larceny: Police is investigating a house breaking and larceny that occurred in West Farms at about midnight on July 07, 2016, the resident(s) reported that upon waking they discovered that the house was broken into and ransacked. The scene was processed by Crime Scene and a search was made in the surrounding area but no one was found. The investigation continues.

Larceny from unattended vehicle: Police is investigating a report of Larceny from an unattended vehicle. Investigations revealed that at about 4.00pm on July 6, the V/C left a garage owned by Myron Liburd leaving all the vehicles intact. On his return at about 08:34 hrs on July 07, he discovered a motor left for repairs car broken into and the radio deck and controls for the air condition missing. A further check was made and it was observed that a radio deck was also missing from another vehicle. The scene was processed the Crime Scene Unit. Further inquiries to be conducted.

SEARCH WARRANTS EXECUTED:
– A search warrant was executed on a premises in Taylors Range for controlled drugs, arms and ammunition, stolen goods and documents relating to the commission of a crime.

– A combined operation was conducted at St. Pauls Village where three (3) search warrants were executed. The warrants were executed on two (2) premises in Rawlins Housing Project, and one (1) in Willett’s Housing Project. Nothing of significance was found in the searches.

The search of a vacant lot adjacent to one of the properties revealed seventy-five (75) marijuana plants ranging from seedling to three feet in height growing in some flower pot. The plants in their pots were seized by police but no one was made accountable.

Traffic Accident: Five (5) traffic accidents occurred on the federation’s roadways in St. Kitts.
