Riley survives hail of bullets from two assailants; police silent on shooting of King Binghi in Nevis

Basseterre, St. Kitts, December 11, 2018 – Two armed and unknown gunmen opened fire on 33-year-old Kevis “Yellow” Riley of Lower Carty Alley on Sunday night, police have confirmed.
“Preliminary investigations so far have revealed that Riley was walking along Shepherd Street, Newtown when he was approached from behind by two armed, unknown assailants who opened fire at him. He was shot several times about the body,” the police statement said Monday.
Riley was transported to the JNF Hospital where he is listed as being in a stable condition.
Members from the Crime Scene Unit visited and processed the scene. Items of evidential value were taken into Police custody.
The Police are making an appeal to anyone who might have any information in relation to this incident to call the Violent Crimes Unit (VCU) at 467-1887, 467-1888, or 662-3468 or their nearest Police Station. Investigations into the matter are ongoing.
Police are yet to issue a statement on Friday night’s shooting in which Carlisle Pemberton, better known as King Binghi was attacked, robbed and shot as he arrived at his home.
Pemberton reportedly suffered a gunshot wound and underwent emergency surgery at the Alexander Hospital in Charlestown.
