SHANGO’S TEAM EDGES OUT NEWCASTLE UNITED

As the countdown continues to the much anticipated commencement of the local Football league in Nevis, another warm-up-practice game was held at the ET Willet Park on Sunday 23rd October.

It was the new and vibrant team under the guidance of the man called SHANGO and the Newcastle United team.

Both teams had opportunities that were not converted and the two goal keepers were tested occasionally.

There were also a few brilliant saves and national youth goalie, Zakeese Smith, may have enhanced his growing reputation as a capable custodian.

In the end however, due to a defensive blunder, it was Shango’s team which went one goal clear and held on to that decisive lead up until the final whistle.

Final score: Shango’s team 1 Newcastle United nil.

According to President of the Nevis Football Association, Rohan Isles, the local league is set to commence on Saturday 29th October.
