BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS — Spain’s Ambassador to the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis, His Excellency Jose Maria Fernandez Lopez Turiso, and Sweden’s Ambassador, Her Excellency Maria Velasco, paid courtesy calls on Acting Prime Minister, the Honourable Geoffrey Hanley, on Friday.
Earlier in the day, the Spanish and Swedish diplomats formally presented their credentials to the Governor-General, Her Excellency Marcella Liburd, at Government House.
Dr Hanley welcomed both ambassadors and extended his best wishes as they assumed their new diplomatic roles.
He also reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and exploring new avenues of cooperation with Spain and Sweden in areas of mutual interest and national development.
