S.L. Horsfords St. Pauls, SOL IAS Conaree F.C., Flow 4G Cayon Rockets and Hobson Enterprises Garden Hotspurs were all victors on the weekend in the SKNFA National Bank Premier League. Flow 4G Cayon Rockets edged Atiba Harris St. Peters 1-0 on Saturday night at the Warner Park Football Stadium. The goal came very early in the match as Vinceroy Nelson found the back of the net in the 3rd minute. Assistant coach of Cayon Jazza Buchanan said the victory was a welcome sign for the team as they have now racked up two wins in a row. “Some of the senior guys begin to come back and we are not getting so much injuries as we were getting before so we are still taking our time to come back,” he said. “This is a big plus for us. This is the first time we have won two games on a straight… we will just work more on this and try go three straight in the next game,” he continued.
Coach Azem Jenkins of St. Peters said his players failed to convert the chances and its time his team begin scoring goals if they wish to succeed. “We made a simple mistake and we had a few chances here and there and we let them slip by. It was a tough loss,” Coach Jenkins said. “We need to cut out the mistakes and score goals. That’s what we need to do. And we need to play 90 minutes of football. Too many times we have patches where we go dead and we get punished for those things,” the coach added.
