St. Kitts records two mid-morning shootings in the space of two days

(BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS) –St. Kitts was shaken up this morning Thursday, October 23, 2014 with another shooting incident that has claim yet another young soul.

The latest incident occurred this morning with the shooting death of 24 year old Istan Mitchum of Central Basseterre.

News reaching this publication indicates that the youngster was shot and killed on Westbourne Ghaut at around 8:30 a.m.

His death came two days after Shawmon Herbert of Taylor’s Village; St. Kitts was gunned down on the morning of Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at Paul Southwell Industrial Park in the vicinity of the Fisheries Complex.

He was transported to JNF Hospital for treatment where he succumbed to his injuries.

This morning shooting brings the number of murder to 14 in St. Kitts and Nevis for the year.

As the news spread and the story unfolded many persons are expressing their concerns about the continued crime violence in the Federation.
