Swimming : SKN Swim Team Places Fifth in OECS Competition

The St. Kitts and Nevis swim team returned home on Monday, November 10th, after an outstanding performance at the 33rd OECS Swimming Championships, held in St. Vincent and the Grenadines from November 7th to 9th.

At the previous edition of the championships, the team brought home just one medal — but this year, their efforts paid off spectacularly, earning a total of eight (8) medals.:

Teadrian Tross – 4 medals (1 Gold, 2 Silver, 1 Bronze)

Edith Denne – 2 medals (1 Gold, 1 Silver)

Skyla Connor – 1 Bronze

Jennifer Harding – 1 Bronze

In addition to the medalists, several other swimmers delivered impressive performances, finishing just shy of the podium with multiple 4th-place finishes and achieving personal best times across various events.

The team was warmly welcomed home by an official delegation in St. Kitts. Upon arrival in Nevis, the Nevis-based swimmers were greeted at the Oualie Pier by Minister Troy Liburd, accompanied by Zahnela Claxton, Juan Williams, Jamir Claxton, and Aljay Newton.

Also present were enthusiastic representatives from the Elizabeth Pemberton Primary School (home of gold medalist Teadrian Tross) and the Nevis Academy (attended by gold medalist Edith Denne), who turned out to celebrate their young champions.

A press briefing is expected to be held in the coming days, where the athletes will be further recognized for their outstanding accomplishments and continued dedication to the sport.
