Traffic Convictions : Basseterre Magistrate’s Court

Several traffic matters were adjudicated at the Basseterre Magistrate’s Court on December 1, 2025, before Her Honour Yasmine Clarke. The cases and their outcomes are as follows:

Floyd Lonke – Found guilty of Driving Without Due Care and Attention (31 January 2025).
Penalty: $800 payable within one month, or one month imprisonment.

Denzil Huggins – Found guilty of Driving Without Due Care and Attention and Failing to Obey a Red Traffic Light (5 March 2025).
Penalty: $1,000 payable within two months or two months imprisonment for the due care offence; and $500 payable within two months or two months imprisonment for the red-light offence.

Chezon Tuckett – Found guilty of Driving Without Due Care and Attention (4 January 2025).
Penalty: $1,000 payable within two months, or one month imprisonment.

T’Anna Simmonds – Found guilty of Driving Without Due Care and Attention (24 January 2025).
Penalty: $1,000 payable within two months, or one month imprisonment.

Tryfena Douglas – Found guilty of Driving Without Due Care and Attention (29 May 2025).
Penalty: $800 payable within two months, or one month imprisonment.

Johnathan Greenaway – Found guilty of Driving Without a Licence and Driving Without Due Care and Attention (23 July 2025).
Penalty: $1,500 payable within one month or three months imprisonment for driving without a licence; and $800 payable within two months or two months imprisonment for the due care offence.

Ricardo Simeon – Found guilty of Driving Without Due Care and Attention (11 June 2025).
Penalty: $800 payable within two months, or one month imprisonment.

Cassia Hendrickson – Found guilty of Driving Without Due Care and Attention (25 July 2025).
Penalty: $1,000 payable within two months, or two months imprisonment.

Shawn Isaac – Found guilty of Driving Without Light to Illuminate Licence Plate and Driving with Only One Lighted Headlamp (14 June 2025).
Penalty: Cautioned for the first offence; fined $100 payable within one week or seven days imprisonment for the second offence.

In addition to the matters disposed of, forty (40) ticket cases were withdrawn after verification of payment in the Vehicle Registration System (VRS). A further thirty-two (32) ticket matters and four (4) accident matters were adjourned to later dates for trial.

The Traffic Department continues to urge all motorists to comply with the traffic laws of the Federation and to operate their vehicles safely and responsibly. Drivers with outstanding traffic tickets are advised to pay their fines promptly to avoid prosecution. The Department remains committed to sustained enforcement efforts aimed at reducing collisions and improving road safety across St. Kitts and Nevis.
