The under 19 regional women’s cricket tournament, being hosted by the West Indies Cricket Board, got underway in Trinidad on Tuesday.
The guest team, the USA, certainly raised eyebrows, by easily defeating the Jamaica team.
Jamaica got to 50 in their allotted 20 overs and the USA girls got to the target for the loss of 3 wickets.
Meanwhile, Barbados managed 62 for 3 in a reduced game of 15 overs versus Guyana.
Guyana in response knocked off the target for the loss of 1 wicket.
Trinidad and Tobago easily took care of newcomers, Leewards.
Trinbago got to a rollicking 164 for 2 in their 20 overs and the Leewards were bowled out for a mere 27 runs.
