Following the successful hosting of the Village Premier League, for the past seven years, the organizers, led by Michael WISE Herbert, are indicating that plans are afoot to commence a female aspect of the league.
Herbert confirmed on Wednesday, that the plan is to commence the female league, on Sunday 16th June.
He is appealing to all female cricketers and teams to register as soon as possible.
He also indicated that on this occasion, there will be no registration fee.
A sponsor has already volunteered to cover the league and the proposed prizes are as follows:
Winning team-$500.00
Second place-$300.00
Third place-$200.00
The usual VPL prizes will also be in the offing, such as:
Monetary prizes for spectators taking catches; best batter and best bowler awards for each match; MVP of the tournament etc.
