ST. JOHN’S, Antigua- The West Indies Women go 2-0 up in the CG Insurance 5-match One Day International Series after defeating Pakistan Women by 8 wickets at the Coolidge Cricket Ground in Antigua.

Hayley Matthews starred with bat and bowl for West Indies Women, taking 2/17 with the ball then smashing 49 when it was time to open the run-chase.

Matthews told CWI Media “I’m really happy to be able to contribute to a team win. Going out there we had a goal of restricting them for under 180 or so and I think we did a fantastic job. I just wanted to spend some time, obviously, we know it was a low sore we were chasing and as batters, it was probably the best time to get our confidence up and just spend some time at the crease. I fell one short of a half-century but still happy with the performance and the win.”

West Indies Women play the CG Insurance 3rd ODI against Pakistan Women on Monday, July 12, at the Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Ground.
