Thursday, January 16, saw the continuation of the local Football league, at the ET Willet Park.
The exuberant Youths of the Future came up against the more seasoned Pioneers.
It was a fast-paced first half and both teams exhibited high skill levels and both goalkeepers and the defensive teams were forced to work overtime.
However, the Youths were able to capitalize on an error in the Pioneers’ defence and slam home their first goal.
Later, the Pioneers team totally messed up a chance to equalize from the penalty spot, as goalie PAS, in taking the crucial kick, slammed it into one of the uprights, much to the chagrin of his teammates.
The youths went on to place two more balls into the back of the net, to win by a comfortable margin.
Final score: Youths of the Future 3 Pioneers nil.
