Two year old case dismissed at the District ‘C’ Magistrate Court

(CHARLESTOWN, NEVIS)- The two year old case that involved Phyllis Wilkin and her grandson Taj Wilkin was dismissed at the District ‘C’ Magistrate Court on Tuesday, October 13, 2014.

The pair was arrested on May 12, 2012 after Police Officers of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force searched the premises of Ms. Wilkin and found one (1) Millennium Taurus .45 Caliber pistol and ammunition.

Officers charged both defendants with possession of firearm, possession of ammunition and smuggling. In court on Tuesday both defendants pleaded not guilty to all charges.

Police Prosecutor, Inspector Stephen Hector offered no evidence against both persons and as a result Her Honor, Magistrate Yasmine Clarke had no choice but to dismiss the matter.

Both defendants were free to go.
