Charlestown, Nevis – October 3, 2025 – The much-anticipated 2025 Primary Schools Football Tournament officially got underway on Friday at the ET Willet Park, with an opening ceremony that combined school spirit, cultural pride, and sporting excitement.
The ceremony was led by Maude Cross Preparatory School, featuring a student chairperson, a stirring steel pan rendition of the national anthem by another student, and an invocation delivered by one of the school’s teachers.
This year’s honoured patron is Tyler Martin, a former student of Maude Cross Prep, who joined the inspection party for the traditional team inspection. Ten schools are participating in the tournament.
Following the opening, the first round of matches was contested with the following results:
