Police, Soldiers, and Prison Officers Begin Intensive Tactical Training Course at Camp Springfield

BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS – A twelve-week intensive tactical training course aimed at enhancing operational readiness, sharpening tactical capabilities, and strengthening inter-agency and regional cooperation officially commenced on Monday at Camp Springfield.

The RSS/SSU Tactical Course brings together members of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force (RSCNPF), the St. Kitts-Nevis Defence Force (SKNDF), and His Majesty’s Prison (HMP). The programme focuses on shared doctrine, coordinated responses, and joint operational understanding to improve national security outcomes.

The opening ceremony was jointly officiated by Commissioner of Police James Sutton, Acting Commander of the SKNDF Major Kayode Sutton, and Acting Commissioner of Prisons Spencer Isaac, underscoring the unified leadership behind the initiative.

This collaborative training programme highlights the importance of strong inter-agency cooperation across the Federation’s national security architecture. The SKNDF has expressed pride in supporting and participating in the course, reaffirming its ongoing commitment to operational readiness and to strengthening collective national and regional security.
