Spotlight on Boom Operator Jamal Jean-Jacques

From music to film, Jamal R.A. Jean-Jacques, also known as Styley Prime, continues to make a significant mark on the creative industries of St. Kitts and Nevis.

As the founder of Prime Beats KN, Jamal has established himself as a talented music producer and songwriter. He is the creative force behind the winning 2023 National Song Competition anthem, “My Saint Kitts & Nevis,” and has also written and produced music for numerous Caribbean artists.

His passion for storytelling extends well beyond the recording studio. Jamal is also an active contributor to Nevis’ growing film industry, where he has worked on more than 15 Caribbean and international productions as a boom operator and production crew member. Through his work, he continues to help position Nevis as an emerging destination for filmmaking in the region.

Most recently, Jamal shared his creative journey at the Nevis Film Commission’s “From Reel to Real” Film Industry Forum, where he encouraged others to pursue their passions and embrace the opportunities available within the creative industries.

Jamal Jean-Jacques is a shining example of Caribbean creativity, talent, and dedication. His continued contributions to music and film are helping to strengthen Nevis’ creative economy while inspiring the next generation of artists and filmmakers.
