CHARLESTOWN, Nevis – The Athletes’ Leadership Workshop concluded successfully on Friday, July 24, at the Charles Walters Community Centre, bringing to an end a valuable programme designed to develop leadership skills and empower athletes both on and off the field of play.
The closing ceremony was chaired by Yashema Martluck, Chief Coordinator of the workshop and a representative of the Special Olympics Committee.
In her remarks, Martluck expressed sincere appreciation to the sponsors, volunteer presenters, and coaches whose commitment and support contributed significantly to the success of the workshop. She commended the participants for their enthusiasm and active engagement throughout the programme and encouraged them to apply the leadership skills they had acquired in their sporting disciplines and everyday lives.
The workshop concluded with the presentation of certificates to participants in recognition of their successful completion of the programme.
The Athletes’ Leadership Workshop forms part of the Special Olympics movement’s ongoing commitment to empowering athletes through education, leadership development, and personal growth, equipping them to become ambassadors and leaders within their communities.
