BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS — Jamaica’s Prime Minister, the Most Honourable Andrew Holness, has been thanked for his candid engagement, warm hospitality, and shared commitment to regional dialogue following Thursday night’s meeting in Kingston with CARICOM Chair and Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis, the Honourable Terrance Drew.

“As he rightly noted, wherever we land in this evolving global order, we must land firmly on our feet — and that is what matters most,” Dr. Drew posted on social media after the meeting in the Jamaican capital.

“Last evening in Jamaica, I had a very meaningful and forward-looking discussion with Prime Minister Andrew Holness and his team. We spoke candidly about the shifting global landscape and what it means for small states like ours. The world is changing, geopolitics is evolving, and power dynamics are shifting — but one thing remains clear: CARICOM must remain strong, united, and responsive,” Prime Minister Drew stated.

Dr Drew reaffirmed that, as the current Chairman of CARICOM, he remains committed to face-to-face engagement with his regional colleagues.

“In times like these, dialogue matters. As expressed by Prime Minister Holness, we must ensure that wherever we land in this evolving global order, we land firmly on our feet — that is what matters most,” he added.

In recent weeks, the CARICOM Chairman has traveled to several Caribbean capitals for discussions with regional leaders, including Prime Minister Godwin Friday of St. Vincent and the Grenadines; Prime Minister Philip Davis of The Bahamas; Prime Minister Gaston Browne of Antigua and Barbuda; Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar of Trinidad and Tobago; Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit of Dominica; and Prime Minister Dickon Mitchell of Grenada.
