(CHARLESTOWN NEVIS)- There is no vacation that never ends and schools all across Nevis, both private and government, re-opened on Monday, September 7, 2015 after a 2 month long summer vacation.

Children clad in new uniforms, are back in school with memories of fun-filled holidays behind them. One tutor noted that returning to school after a summer’s vacation is always difficult for children. To soften the blow she said, “I would always contact my students during the summer months to introduce myself to them and their parents”.

She also noted that the major issue for children when they return to school is adjusting to a new class. “It is always difficult for children to make that adjustment of being in a new class”. She claimed that it is their priority as teachers, to ensure that children are comfortable with their surroundings and once that is being made available, nothing will hinder them from learning.

Newly elected Principal of the Elizabeth Pemberton Primary School, Ms. Shenelle Pemberton said that she is grateful and humbled for the opportunity given, and she is looking forward to working with her wonderful staff. Ms. Pemberton also indicated, that the school has a track record of achieving great things and she will try her utmost best to keep the standard as high as possible. Ms. Pemberton also stated that it is imperative for the children to look out for each other and to be each other’s keeper.
