Netball enthusiasts on Nevis have reason to celebrate, as the recent Queens of Secondary Schools Netball Tournament proved that the sport remains alive and thriving on the island.
The three-night series between the Charlestown Secondary School (CSS) and the Gingerland Secondary School (GSS) concluded on Tuesday, November 11, at the Grell Hull-Stevens Netball Complex, drawing enthusiastic crowds and showcasing an impressive display of young talent.
The CSS Under-20 girls dominated their series in commanding fashion, winning three games to nil against their GSS counterparts. Meanwhile, in the Under-14 division, CSS also came out on top, securing the series two games to one, despite one match being called off following an on-court altercation.
While CSS emerged victorious in both categories, all games were fiercely contested, keeping fans on the edge of their seats until the final whistle.
After the concluding match, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Education, Ms Zahnela Claxton, presented awards to outstanding players in recognition of their exceptional performances.
