Five Officers in Antigua Under Investigation For “Vampire Killer” Escape

Antigua February 17, 2018: The Royal Police Force in Antigua has launched an investigation into the circumstances that led to the  escape of the murder suspect Delano Forbes’ from five officers.

The investigation is being led by the Professional Standards Unit of the the  Police Force. The five officers involved have already submitted their reports on the incident, a well placed source said.

The officers, two photographers and three of the Serious Crime Unit, had reportedly taken Forbes from Her Majesty’s Prison at about 11:30 am and took him to Swetes as part of an evidence gathering mission. Forbes, who was shackled at the time, managed to give his detail the slip sometime around 12:30 that afternoon, even though they reportedly chased after him.

At the end of the investigation, the Professional Standards Unit is expected to report to the commissioner of police and the unit also has the power to recommend disciplinary actions, if any, for the officers involved.

The murder suspect, who is still at large,  is accused of killing Wilfred ‘Bongo’ Williams, Shawn Henry and Lisue Williams. All three men were killed last year and the police said earlier they found jars of what appeared to be blood at Forbes’ home when they were investigating in December.
