Five Outstanding Young Persons from Nevis Honoured

Basseterre-St. Kitts- The evening of Thursday 15th November, was an evening of revelation, as the five honourees from Nevis, who have been selected to the prestigious twenty- five most remarkable teens within the federation of St. Kitts and Nevis, for the year 2018, were made known.

The five from Nevis are:
Carlon Bowen-Tuckett of the Nevis Sixth form College, for Sports (Cricket)
Jelani Manners of the Gingerland Secondary School for school pride
Dillon Smithen of the Gingerland Secondary School for personal decision to change
Keneisha Liburd of the Gingerland Secondary School for spiritual commitment
Lauren Lawrence of the Nevis Sixth form college for youth activism.
The other twenty remarkable teens hail from St. Kitts:
Ms. Kizivor Jeffers; Mr. Sharim Hamilton; Mr. Carl Caines; Ms. Anique Ward; Ms. Mikaya Collins; Mr. Miguel Etiene; Ms. Dolicia Barry; Ms. Nia Belle; Ms. Dannique Earle Wilson; Ms. Aliah Vanterpool; Mr. Shaheem Prentice; Mr. Naeem Richardson; Mr. Lemuel Chiverton; Mr. Jeremiah Welcome; Mr. Cartel Forde; Mr. Elkreen Morton; Mr. Khale Thomas; Mr. Nickhail Sutton; Ms. Zidane Knight and Ms. Allese Clarke.
The twenty-five remarkable teens received commendations and salutations at a special sitting of the National House of Assembly.
Their profiles were read by persons who were previously given similar accolades and they were personally congratulated by a number of parliamentarians.

Jelani Manners

This brings the number of youths to be saluted in this manner to over 200, since the inception of the program.
Hon. Shawn Richards, Minister of Youth, in his remarks, committed to the continuation of the program, as a means to inspire and motivate the young people to strive for high ideals.
