GOVERNMENT OF NATIONAL UNITY OFFERS PREMIUM QUALITY INFORMATION AS PART OF GOOD GOVERNANCE AGENDA

Basseterre, St. Kitts, July 04, 2016 (SKNIS): The Government of National Unity has received numerous commendations on its reporting to the country on its good governance agenda with transparency and accountability.

At his monthly press conference on June 29, Prime Minister Dr. the Honourable Timothy Harris, hailed his Government’s faithfulness to the people in providing pertinent information on public affairs.

“I have received commendations from the public regarding the regularity with which we have been keeping these Press Conferences, the ream of Press Releases coming from the Press Secretary, Ms. Valencia Grant, and The St. Kitts and Nevis Information Service (SKNIS), the regularity of our Parliamentary meetings and our “Working For You,” Prime Minister Harris said. “More information of premium quality is available to the public on the affairs of this Government than was the case prior.”

“These elements of good governance must not be taken for granted.  I am honoured that our Team Unity government has been faithful in our commitments to the people.  The noise of the election losers and those who marauded the public is not unexpected, as empty vessels make the most noise,” said Prime Minister Harris.

The Government’s “Working for You” programme offers news, views, reviews, interviews and all the happenings of the Team Unity Administration, which has pledged transparency, accountability, good governance and a fair share for all citizens of the Federation.

The programme features government officials, heads of government departments, permanent secretaries and other government officials who provide timely, relevant and accurate information as it relates to the social, economic, human, political and sustainable development of St. Kitts and Nevis.

“Working for You” is carried live every Wednesday on ZIZ, WinnFM and Sugar City Rock from 1:30-3:00 pm and rebroadcast on Freedom FM and Von Radio on Thursdays from 7:30-9:00am and 10:30-12:00pm respectively.
