Teadrian Tross has etched his name in the nation’s sports history by securing a bronze medal in the Boys 11–12 50m Freestyle at the Goodwill Swimming Championships. Tross clocked a stunning new personal best of 27.40 seconds to claim the medal during the Federation’s debut appearance at the regional event.

While the majority of the St. Kitts & Nevis delegation achieved personal best times, Tross went a step further to land the team’s maiden podium finish.

Tross returned to Nevis on Monday, August 17, alongside Coach Annelise Leibbrandt. Commending the squad’s performance, Coach Leibbrandt noted that the entire team performed creditably in their inaugural outing, highlighted Tross’s extraordinary effort to secure bronze, and expressed confidence that more regional medals lie ahead for St. Kitts & Nevis.

Director of Sports Aljay Newton was present to welcome the young hero, praising him as a well-rounded athlete who also excels in cricket, football, and track and field. Newton encouraged Tross to continue developing his natural talents and bringing pride to his family, Nevis, and the wider Federation.

Reflecting on his historic achievement, Tross shared that his primary motivation was to make his parents proud. He explained that he wanted to ensure the journey to Trinidad yielded something meaningful for his family rather than just being a trip, which drove him to push himself to make the extra effort needed to bring home a medal.
