Legal Fraternity Reaches Out To Seniors

Charlestown-Nevis-Lawyers are normally known to be verbose and recognized for their impressive speeches but the representatives of the St. Kitts –Nevis Bar Association, who visited the Flambuoyant Seniors’ home in Charlestown on Thursday 1st November, also proved that Lawyers can indeed sing.

The activity was part of the annul Law week which is being observed in St. Kitts and Nevis.

Almost twenty of the local barristers were present at the home and they went bearing gifts.

The short presentation ceremony was ably chaired by Miss Michelle Slack, who used the opportunity to thank the residents at the home, for their sterling contributions to the Nevisian community.

The opening prayer was delivered by Ms. Rhonda Nisbett-Browne, while Mr. Kris Liburd read a passage of scripture.

The dynamic group then sung lustily and melodiously, two well-known hymns: ‘To God be the Glory’ and ‘Standing on the promises.’

Ms. Althea Campbell then presented to Nurse in charge of the home, Ms. Donna Hanley, a wonderfully decorated barrel, which contained food stuff and toiletries, to be use by the residents.

Ms. Hanley in her acceptance speech, thanked the members of the Bar Association for their kind gesture and wished them well in their future endeavours.

The lawyers then took time out to mix and mingle with the residents.
